Mundaring (Revoked)

Project Information:
Mundaring (Revoked) is an environmental planting project located in Mundaring, Western Australia, situated in the Perth Hills approximately 35km east of Perth. It was registered in July 2015 by the proponent Regenerate Australia Ltd and covers a project area of 15.12ha.
Environmental planting projects under the Reforestation by Environmental or Mallee Plantings methodology involve establishing permanent plantings of mixed native tree species on land that was predominantly used for agricultural purposes for at least five years before project commencement. To meet standard scheme requirements, the plantings must achieve permanent forest cover, which typically requires a stocking density of at least 200 stems per hectare.
The Mundaring area is known for agricultural hobby farming, orchards, grazing, and forestry operations. The region experiences a Mediterranean climate classified by high winter rainfall, and the local environment is generally characterised by lateritic gravels, clay, and sandy loam soils over a granite base.
The project activities focused specifically on planting tree species that are native to the local area, aiming to restore natural biodiversity. The proponent, Regenerate Australia Ltd, is known for operating similar native reforestation and ecosystem restoration projects across Australia using FullCAM measurement models. Notably, this particular project was formally revoked on August 5, 2021, under section 30 of the CFI Rule, a mechanism often used for voluntary project withdrawal or a failure to proceed with reporting obligations.
